Monterey Boats received the 2006 Volvo Penta Achievement Award for recognition of having the highest single-year unit growth of any boatbuilder in the United States.
Willston, Fla.-based Monterey was presented the award at its 2007 model year dealer meeting, held Aug. 26 to 28 in Fort Myers, Fla.
"This award really goes to all of the dealer partners in our global network, and to the 450 hard-working, dedicated employees at the Monterey world headquarters," Charles Marshall, co-chairman of Monterey Boats, said in a statement. "We are honored that Volvo Penta recognizes that we continue to lead the industry through the design and quality of our products."
Clint Moore, president of Volvo Penta, presented the award to Marshall at Monterey's dealer meeting.
The annual event set new benchmarks for orders, the company said, and launched three 2007 models including the 220EX Deck Boat.
