Getting Bigger

October 2006 News

Tohatsu America Corp., the U.S. and Canadian distributor of Tohatsu and Nissan Marine outboard motors, is relocating next month from Carrollton, Texas, to new, larger headquarters in Farmers Branch, Texas.

"The reason for the move is the tremendous growth we have experienced over the past few years, continued expansion of our market share and demand for our products and our projected growth in the future," said TAC president Hiro Wakabayashi, in a statement.

The new location offers expanded warehouse space and personnel offices. A dealer training area also has been set aside so dealers can be certified in the company's TDLI technology outboards.

TAC's parent company in Japan recently opened a manufacturing plant capable of producing 200,000 outboards each year. The company says expanding distribution in the United States and Canada - its biggest markets - is necessary to keep pace with the expanded manufacturing capacity.
