New Mercury Jet Drive Outboards

January 2007 News

Three new 25hp EFI FourStroke Jet Drives, based on the Mercury 25 and 30 EFI four-stroke outboards, are now in production. These new jet drives will make it possible to boat in shallow lakes, streams and rivers typically inaccessible with a standard propeller-driven outboard.

"We have taken all of the great features of our new 25 hp EFI FourStroke and
applied them to the jet model," said Bill McEathron, Mercury director of small
outboards. "We are proud to bring this versatile outboard to the market."

The 25 hp EFI FourStroke jet outboard is a great alternative to the two-
stroke jet outboard of similar horsepower. It fits on a 20-inch transom,
making it an easy replacement for the standard outboard.

The 25 EFI FourStroke Jet Drive outboards feature the same battery-free EFI
system as the 25 and 30 hp EFI FourStroke outboards recently introduced by
Mercury. All electric-start models are equipped with a manual-start recoil,
which is good news for anyone stranded with a battery that has lost its
charge. In addition, all tiller models feature an automatic decompression
system to dramatically reduce starting pull force.

The EFI four stroke design provides improved fuel economy, greater range
and smoother running quality than equivalent two-stroke models. The 25 EFI
Jet Drive
also shares a tuned cowl induction system that significantly reduces
sound levels, making it one of the quietest in its class.

All Mercury 25 EFI FourStroke Jet Drive models will be available through
authorized Mercury dealers starting this month.
