Yamaha Awards Scholarships

Yamaha Marine Group recently announced the recipients of the 2007 Yamaha Marine Dealer Scholarship.

 

The recipients are Trinara Burgau, Richard F. Kellogg, William Gilbert III and Kristopher K. Kalibat.

 

Each scholarship is a one-time award to be used for formal post-high school study. Applicants were judged on their academic standing, leadership, community involvement and writing/communication skills.

 

Burgau is the daughter of Rocky Burgau, owner of Stub's Marine in Alexandria, Minn. She attends St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. Her major field of study is social work and she is expected to graduate in 2009.

 

Kellogg has been working at G&G Marina in Roach, Mo., since he was 13 years old. A 2007 graduate of Camdenton High School in Roach, Kellogg also attends Lake Career Technical Center for Marine Service Technology.

 

Gilbert is the son of Bill Gilbert, president of Caribee Boat Sales in Islamorada, Fla. He attends the University of Miami and is majoring in business administration.

 

Kalibat is the son of Jeff Kalibat, owner of K&K Outboards in Islands Park, N.Y. A 2007 graduate of Chaminade High School in Minneola, N.Y. Kalibat has been admitted to Fordham University in New York City. He plans to major in physics and pursue a career in engineering.
