At this year's Genoa Boat show in early October, Regulator president and owner Joan Maxwell awarded Antonio Moscato, owner of International Marine Dealers, the 2009 Dealer of the Year Award. The award recognized IMD for exemplary sales in the 2009 model year and exceeding all other Regulator dealers in units and dollars sold throughout the Regulator Dealer Network.
IMD, based in Grosseto, Italy, was also awarded the International Trade Achievement Award by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Presenting the Award was consul general to the Milan District Carol Z. Perez, who noted, "this is the first time an International Marine Dealer has achieved such a prestigious accomplishment and been recognized by the United States Department of Commerce."
IMD owner Antonio Moscato entered the marine industry in 2002 with the goal to become one of Italy's strongest service and sales center for quality fishing boats. In 2008, IMD completed construction of a new marine sales and service facility that features more than 20,000 square feet of open showroom space and an additional 20,000 square feet for service and storage.
"IMD's dedication to the Regulator product has been recognized in over 25 boat tests in Italian publications and grown our Italian market share exponentially since 2005," said Maxwell. "IMD's success in the 2009 model year has allowed us to continue to operate at a higher-than-expected capacity in a very strenuous year and represents a major success story for our operations."
