A $70K Kickback

March 2011 News

When John and Lynnette Lewellyn decided to purchase the showboat at the National Houseboat Expo, it came with a little perk-a $70K deck boat. The Indiana couple were entered into a select drawing with those who had also purchased a boat at the Louisville, Ky. show or put a deposit on a custom boat to be built by one of the participating houseboat manufacturers.

The Lewellyns purchased a houseboat from Thoroughbred and then hours later found out they had won the ultimate kickback, a Hurricane SunDeck 2400 deck boat from Nautical Global Group. The loaded SunDeck with a wakeboard tower, Thunder & Lightning Sound System also included a Yamaha F200TXR engine as well as a Trailmaster Trailer.

During the three-day event, Horizon Yachts, Sharpe, Stardust Cruisers and Thoroughbred sold houseboats that roughly combined for $5,465,000, giving those in this segment of the boating industry something to cheer about.
