Jackson man with 0.15 BAC hits dock, arrested for allegedly driving pontoon boat

June 2011 News
A 35-year-old Jackson man was arrested after allegedly driving a pontoon boat while intoxicated and striking a dock.

The man initially called police about 11 p.m. Sunday to report being harassed by another person while on the lake, Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety Deputy Director Jon Johnston said. Officers responded to 339 S. Lakeside Drive in Michigan Center to take the report when the man struck the dock he was trying to approach, Johnston said.

The man's preliminary breath test showed a 0.15 blood alcohol content, Johnston said. He was then taken into custody and lodged at the Jackson County Jail, Johnston said.

It is believed the man was visiting a friend and it is unknown who owned the boat, he said. There was minor damage to the dock that was hit, Johnston said.
