Product Test No. 89: SkiffDaddy Portable Drink Holder

Published in the June 2011 Issue June 2011 PDB Tested

SkiffDaddy Portable Drink HolderFor every pontoon boat out there with nearly 20 cup holders, there seems to be just as many with only two. I'm often amazed at some of the boats I come across that don't have a good location to store my drink. I guess some manufacturers view having a cup holder for the driver as a promotion for drunk boating, but captains do drink water, too, you know. That's why I like what SkiffDaddy has come up with.

The portable drink holder is repositionable and requires no assembly, no drilling, no clamps or even screws. It fits snuggly and safely on most pontoon railings using only friction and gravity. Plus I like the vinyl coating that protects the boat rail and gives the SkiffDaddy Portable Drink HolderSkiffDaddy the grip it needs to stay put.

I ordered both the single and the two-pack and basically the two-pack just gives you two single holders. It really does fit snug and even though it can be moved around, I'm happy with where I've placed them. I put one next to the helm seat and it held my beverage of choice (which of course is water if you read the Captain's Chair column in May) with absolutely no sliding or shifting.

The $14.99 single price from SwirlyGig Industries seems fairly reasonable, but for those SkiffDaddy Portable Drink Holderwho have boats with limited drink holders, you'd probably be willing to pay even a little more. A two-pack goes for $24.99, which will save you a little money if you go with the pair that can be separated.
