Rob Parmentier was named president and CEO of the Larson Boat Group, parent company of the Larson, Triumph and Striper brands.
Al Kuebelbeck, who has spent most of his 44 years in the marine industry with Larson, is retiring as Larson president.
Parmentier's most current position was senior vice president of marketing and business development for CGI North America, though he is best known for his years with Sea Ray from 1982 through 2012. He most recently served with Brunswick Corp. as Sea Ray Boat Group president, overseeing Sea Ray and Meridian Yachts.
"I have known and competed with Rob for over 20 years, and during that time, I learned directly and indirectly how passionate Rob is about the boating industry, his dealers and doing what is right for his customers and employees," Larson Boat Group chairman Irwin Jacobs said in a statement."Now that Rob is on our team, I look forward to his contributions in growing our brand image, our market share and the enthusiasm and commitment to our dealer organization."
Parmentier said he's been impressed so far with conversations he's had with the Larson management team, the factory employees and dealers.
"I was impressed with the pride undertaken in the manufacturing process and the enthusiasm LBG dealers and employees have for our brands," Parmentier said. "My passion for the marine business is unwavering, my commitment to ensure our employees all believe in what we are going to achieve is unshakable, and finally, my promise to current and new dealers is that we will be partners in their success, are the foundations on which I will guide LBG."
Kuebelbeck says he will always have "fond memories" of his time working with the talented and dedicated people at the group's Little Falls, Minn., factory and of working with dealers around the world.
"I feel very confident leaving LBG in the very capable hands of Rob Parmentier, as I'm sure he'll continue to grow LBG's boat business globally," Kuebelbeck said.
Jacobs said Kuebelbeck was one of the first people he worked with when he entered the marine industry 38 years ago.
"He has been an absolute pleasure to work with and has always been very loyal and committed to Larson's dealers, employees and customers. He is a great friend and always will be," Jacobs said.
