Protomet Corporation Getting Bigger

April 2014 Industry Web Exclusive
Protomet Corporation, which is the parent company of PTM Edge pontoon rear-view mirrors, is celebrating a $6.25 million expansion of its Oak Ridge headquarters. The production facility has doubled and now covers over 40,000 sq ft. Expanded operations will create 30 new jobs over the next 3 years. As part of the expansion, the company has increased its capabilities, upgraded equipment and integrated the finishing operation into the Oak Ridge facility. This means greater throughput, increased capacity and faster cycle time.

If you aren't familar with PTM Edge mirrors, they are a patent pending mirror system designed specifically for the pontoon pilot. The convex mirror provides a wide viewing angle and the precision machined bracket provides a rigid lock for superior stability in rough waters. The bracket is made from 6061-T6 aerospace aluminum. The clamp-on design provides a solid foundation secured to the pontoon rail with a 3M Ultra-High Bond Pressure Sensitive Adhesive and stainless steel set screws. No drilling required.
