We at Pontoon and Deck Boat magazine would like to extend congratulations to Lori Melbostad, former Vice President of Operations at luxury pontoon builder Premier Marine Inc.—now President. Melbostad’s new responsibilities place her in charge of the company and all of its operations. Bob Menne, the company’s current President and founder, will remain the CEO and continue his involvement as a spokesperson for the company and an ambassador for the brand.
Melbostad says she’s “looking forward to a new opportunity. There are few things I love more than boating and working within the marine industry, and I’m excited to be able to focus on providing high-quality products for our dealer network, consumers and boaters alike.” We as pontoon-lovers wholeheartedly agree. “Pontoons have seen a lot of growth over the past few years and I am looking forward to growing Premier into the future,” Melbostad enthuses.
Backed with 25 years of experience working with boat companies such as Premier, Palm Beach, Weeres and Forester Boats, she joined her current role leading operations for Premier Marine back in 2001.
“Lori brought her leadership skills and helped grow internal operations over the last 13 model years,” Bob Menne says. “Her skill at managing all the business, combined with her 25 years of marine industry experience, has been a winning combination. We’ve done great work together, and now I’m looking forward to acting as an ambassador for Premier and promoting the boating industry.”
This change in leadership is effective immediately.
“Working hand and hand with Lori over the years gives me great confidence in her ability to lead Premier into the future,” Menne says. “Her relationships with dealers, employees, and our vendors will make it a natural transition. It will be great to have a strong leader, dedicated mother, and avid boater at the helm of the company.
