Captain Tony casted around for what upgrades everyone was planning for the next boating season:
I'm planning a few upgrades for next season (extending the rear boarding ladder, adding a speedometer, adding a front Sun Shade to my Bimini etc.). Drop me a note about your plans and maybe it will give me some good ideas. Keep warm or keep on boating.
belercous: More beer is an obvious improvement. Upgrade your depth/fishfinder to a unit that has a speed function built in. A marine channel radio is good for emergencies or for calling in a food order at a marina. A plug-in spotlight is handy for coming in after dark, but get the most powerful one you can afford.
Friz: Well shipmates, not to gloat, but boating season is still very much on here in Florida. I gave up on Michigan in 1977. Anyhow, current project is adding a second (house) battery. BobG did an excellent post with pictures "Add-A-Battery" on 7/10/12. I am following his lead.
drive2boat: All great ideas. I will be considering a half enclosure in the near future for protection from those pop-up storms we tend to have here in sunny central Virginia in the “Good Old Summertime.” I have just added, this week, Tap Fins and cannot wait to get the boat in the water for a test of their abilities. I think I may need to go back to work to support my boating habit. I'm convinced that it is an incurable sickness! And I love it! COME ON SPRING!
