Eight Skiers And Counting

April 2016

October 24, 2015. The sky cast a dome of grey clouds over Hidden Lake in Warsaw, Ind., as eight men dressed in black wetsuits lined up on the dock and checked their water skis. Once everyone was set, each grabbed a handled rope and took a deep breath. Though this would be a private show, the video camera was rolling to eventually share the moment with thousands of viewers. The sudden gunning of the engine cut across the chilly lake and the team was off, pulled from the dock and into the water, accelerating to 20 miles per hour. In 700 feet, the engine cut louder as the team hit the 45 mph mark and dropped their skis. Continuing on bare feet, the men sent up great sprays of water as they held their positions for another 500 feet. Once they hit their mark, everyone dropped into the water, giving the boat just 300 feet to turn and drop its speed once more.

Considering this awesome feat, would you be surprised to hear that it was pulled off with a pontoon boat?
