Just Dewitt

May 2016 Brady L. Kay

The view from the Clam Shack Rental desk at Dewitt Marine is a beautiful sight, yet it could be a little confusing to those searching for the rental pontoons. Let’s be honest: rental boats don’t exactly have the best reputation when it comes to looks, quality and especially not comfort. We’ve all seen those bare-bone rentals that come with a square float cushion, paddle, stackable plastic deck chairs and half-rotten molded bench seats to top it off.

I guess those types of rental places are good for getting first-timers out on the water as well as the ideal boat to rent to college kids on spring break, but these broken-down models can be a horrible introduction to the true pontooning lifestyle.

While the Nike slogan “Just Do It” suggests that’s how you do things in the rental business, there is a marina that would prefer that you “Just Dewitt” and give them a try.
