Growing up in Florida, current Chicago Bear linebacker Willie Young has been around boating and fishing his entire life. Fishing was his first love and boats would soon follow. He began by fixing up old boats with his dad so they could get to where the fishing was best.
“My dad introduced me to fishing at a very young age but when we started out fishing it wasn’t from a boat; we were fishing from the banks,” recalled Young. “We took what we had and made the most of it. We would rebuild floors or do what we needed to do just to get it in fishing condition.”
Now in the NFL, the Bears sack leader last season, who often mimics the motion of reeling in a big fish after each sack, has seen his passion for boating and fishing continue to grow to the point where it might be considered an addiction.
