Pontoon & Deck Boat magazine recently earned the 2017 Grand Award in the Feature Writing category from Apex Awards. The article, “Living The American Dream,” by Executive Editor Brady L. Kay, was announced at the 29th annual awards program that recognizes excellence in publications work by professional communicators. A total of 100 Grand Awards were awarded from nearly 1,400 entries in 11 major categories.
The cover feature on retired United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills originally ran in the July 2016 issue of PDB magazine. Thousands of soldiers have been wounded in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but only five have survived quadruple amputee injuries and Mills is one of them.
