On behalf of Pontoon & Deck Boat Magazine publisher, staff, advertisers and community partners, we send our condolences and heart-felt prayers to the wonderful city of Las Vegas. We are devastated by last night's tragedy and mourn with the families of those killed and injured. We will continue to stand with Las Vegas through the uncertain times ahead.
According to a Las Vegas Sun article published this morning, “a gunman perched on the 32nd floor of a Strip casino unleashed a shower of bullets on an outdoor country music festival below, killing at least 58 people as some 22,000 concertgoers screamed and ran for their lives, authorities said. It was the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
“At least 515 people were injured, Metro Police said.
“SWAT officers using explosives stormed the gunman's hotel room at Mandalay Bay and found he had killed himself, police said. Authorities identified him as Stephen Craig Paddock, 64, of Mesquite.
“Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said police believed the shooting was a ‘lone wolf’ attack but were looking for a roommate of Paddock for questioning.”
