Barletta Pontoon Boats, a brand new pontoon boat company located in Bristol, Ind., surpassed two “century” marks in it’s still very young history of operations. Barletta hired it’s 100th team member during the second week of April, and then the following week invoiced it’s 100th pontoon boat.
Incorporated in June of 2017, and then beginning actual boat production in late December of 2017, Barletta has quickly answered the call of both pontoon boat dealers and customers alike. With an aggressive goal of building 1000 boats in calendar year 2018, Barletta was forced to truncate what many believed would be a long product development and launch cycle, whileat the same time hiring a workforce that would fit the philosophy of President and Co-Owner, Bill Fenech.
“There are many in this industry - competing manufacturers, dealers, and vendor partners - that said it couldn’t be done,” stated Fenech. “I would be lying if I said that this team didn’t use that as “bulletin-board material” to push harder and faster. What’s most impressive is that this team not only achieved our goal to have units in the field by January 2018, but we did so without sacrificing ANY of our core values as a manufacturer. We didn’t build just another ‘copy-cat, me-too’ pontoon boat - we built the pontoon boat that we wanted to build. Every piece of our pontoon boats was a conscious decision with the end-user’s on-water experience in mind.”
Barletta Pontoon Boats burst onto the scene with their product launch in January of 2018. Led by Fenech, an RV industry veteran of 30 years, and supported by an experienced team from around the marine industry, Barletta Pontoon Boats was awarded the 2018 NMMA Innovation Award in the pontoon boat category. This annual award recognizes groundbreaking, new consumer marine products and is presented at the Minneapolis Boat Show.
“One thousand boats is absolutely an aggressive goal, but not unreachable. In fact, I have every belief that we’ll surpass that goal,” continued Fenech. “We have an incredibly dedicated and passionate team, who support and are supported by, one of the best dealer networks in the country.
