Coach Marine Group, which builds Coach and Xcursion pontoon boats from 19 to 27 feet, is expanding into a second facility in Chanute, Kan., with production beginning later this summer. The company currently builds boats in Humboldt, Iowa.
“We have a talented staff of dedicated people that are building great boats in Humboldt,” said Chris Riddle, co-owner, president and CEO of Coach Marine Group. “As a company we are actively taking intelligent steps to address demand and meet the highest level of customer satisfaction, quality, value and innovation.”
In addition to starting production in Humboldt last January, Riddle and Wendell Payne, CMG co-owner, vice president and CFO have brought in Chris “CJ” Jones as general manager and chief operating officer.
“Our newly acquired facility in Chanute, Kan., offers over 200,000 square feet of production ready space with an available workforce as well. “Our growth initiative has been launched due to the increased level of customer interest,” said Payne.
Coach pontoons will continue to be built at the Humboldt facility. Riddle said that the Chanute facility will be used for research and design and new-model development for 2019. “We realize our plans and initiatives are nothing short of bold,” he explained. “However, we have developed extraordinary products in both brands. Our dealers and retail customers want more of what we have put before them and we intend to make good on delivering to their needs.
