Pontoon Registrations Continue To Climb

New powerboat registrations were up 3.5 percent on a rolling 12-month year-over-year basis in July, according to preliminary data from the National Marine Manufacturers Association.

Pontoons, personal watercraft and towboats led growth for the three-month period ending in July, up 8 to 9 percent year over year.

Cruisers, towboats and outboard runabouts were up 6 to 8 percent, and freshwater fishing boats, sterndrive cruisers, PWC and pontoons were up 3 to 5 percent, according to the NMMA.

Registrations of boats 27 feet and larger were up 10 percent on a rolling 12-month, year-over-year basis.
