Boat Trader Launches New Consumer Mobile App

December 2018 News

Boat Trader, the largest boating marketplace in the U.S., announced this week the launch of its new app for iOS and Android mobile devices. This addition to Boat Trader’s technology suite reinforces the company’s mission to leverage technology to deliver a world-class shopping experience.

With more than 1,600 dealers and private party sellers, and more than 100,000 new and used boats for sale in the Boat Trader marketplace, the new app provides easy and fast access for consumers to search the largest selection of boats for sale in the U.S. As boat shopping has increasingly become more mobile with three-quarters of Boat Trader’s visitors using a mobile device to search for boats, the app provides a simple way to search boats, save boats and contact sellers - helping Boat Trader’s nearly three million consumers find the perfect boat more quickly than ever before.

"The new app provides consumers with an indispensable tool for shopping for boats that includes updated features such as price change alerts and newly listed boats that match their preferences,” said Sam Fulton, CEO. "Boat Trader is already known for its ability to connect more boat buyers with sellers than any other source, but we’re making this process even faster by leveraging the core capabilities of an app.”

Other innovative features on Boat Trader's app include:

State-of-the-art location technology. Boat Trader's app includes “boats near you” upon opening the app, providing consumers a selection of boats for sale in close proximity.

Redesigned search and browse. The new app allows users to browse by type or search by more specific criteria - from brand, length, year, price, location and condition.

One-tap to boats. Boat Trader's app implements the highest-rated user interface, including an improved experience browsing boats by type, viewing details and swipeable photos, and contacting sellers with one tap.

Ability to save boats. Users can save boats in one tap using the Boat Trader app and access them anytime from any device. With push notifications enabled, the app will deliver updates about a user’s saved boats, so users never have to “miss the boat” again.

This best-in-class app serves as the catalyst for Boat Trader's mission — leveraging technology to create a world-class shopping experience. Boat Trader's launch of the new app is the first step in many changes as the company moves to be mobile-first.
