February 2019 Feature

JL Audio has launched a new speaker that’s perfect for your pontoon. Andy Oxenhorn, President of JL Audio, said, "With M6, we have pulled out all the stops to deliver our best sounding, best looking marine loudspeakers ever. Years of research and development have led us to this launch event, and we know that our customers will be excited to experience the incredible performance and design of M6."

The M6 Marine Coaxial Speaker is built to exceed industry standards for salt-fog and UV exposure, ensuring that you get a long-term performance like never before. They are designed to operate in freshwater or saltwater, so you can feel confident wherever you are setting sail. All models also have a patent-pending breakthrough available that delivers an amazingly smooth cone illumination effect by shining multiple RGB LEDs through the cone material, with no “hot spots” or reflections on the cone surface! You can choose from seven fixed-wiring lighting colors or you can separately purchase and connect a lighting controller accessory and get complete control of color and intensity from the tips of your fingers.

Acoustically engineered to produce powerful, smooth sound in real-world, open-air, marine environments, the M6 Marine Coaxial Speaker is delivers superior sound. The subwoofers have the kind of bass that has made JL Audio famous in the automotive sound arena. The bass will impress you not only with its sheer level, but even more with its smoothness, balance and precision. The silk dome tweeters for each coaxial size produce superior output capability with impressive bass response and sparkling high frequency detail, because they are specifically engineered to operate without a dedicated enclosure.

Both fixed and swivel pipe mounting fixtures are available for the most popular pipe diameters, but a deck/surface mount fixture with ratchet-adjustable pitch is also available if that is what works the best for your pontoon. The speaker is available in two distinct grille styles: “Classic” or “Sport”, and both are available in Gloss White. Sport models are also available with a dual-metallic, Gunmetal/Titanium finish. M6 Coaxial come in three speaker sizes: 6.5, 7.7 and 8.8 inches.
