PDB Tested: Sperry Sport

While on the hunt for a new pair of boating shoes for the season, our search led us to Sperry and its new Sport line. The popular Sperry brand was founded in 1935 by avid sailor, inventor and intrepid explorer Paul Sperry and for 2022 its latest collection of footwear is getting a lot of attention from boaters.

Sperry Sport is built to withstand the rigors and demands of a wide range of activities on the water and the shoreline and every style offers signature Sperry traction control featuring Adaptive Wave Siping made with the highest-grade quality non-marking rubber. Performance details such as hydrophobic materials for easy-to-clean, quick-dry comfort and versatility, enhanced wet traction, and an anti-vibration midsole that offers enhanced cushioning, are hallmarks of the new collection.

Six styles are now available, including the Men’s Wave Rocker, which is the boating shoe we selected to review. Priced at $119.99, the unique design features a soft, perforated neoprene sock fit upper supported by an innovative external TPU harness that provides the ultimate in custom fit and lateral support. I love the shoes for the comfort and ease, plus I earned style points from my teenage kiddos for the fresh new look.
