Tie Down Tips To Stop The Rubbing

I have been studying how a pontoon bunk trailer works and where the current stuff fails and I have come up with a way to make the trailer work better without damaging my boat.

The biggest frustration is how the front stops rub up and down on the front rub rail and scuff the heck out of it.  My solution was to add the mounted tie down buckles to the trailer on the back AND the front, so I could pull the bow down into the bunks and hold the trailer back about 2 inches from the front stops. 

This also helps prevent the boat from bouncing due to the trailer flexing as you're going down the road. By tying both ends it makes the trailer much more ridged and only the tongue will have flex. 

I've seen the front of the boat bounce up to 3 inches up and down at the stops with it pulled up tight against it.  Which takes the finish off the rub rail very quickly!
