Moisture is the bane of winterizing pontoon owners everywhere. Inducing everything from rust to corrosion, mold, mildew and wood rot, enough prolonged wetness can cause irreparable damage when it comes to storing your boat. Luckily there are products designed to combat this issue. Air-Dryr from Davis Instruments fights moisture by circulating thermal convections of warm air to eliminating traces of dampness and the odors that follow from enclosed spaces. UL-listed, Air-Dryr is maintenance-free and completely silent thanks to no fan, thermostat or moving part in its design. Built to run constantly, the durable polycarbonate housing doesn’t overheat and is always safe to the touch. If the air flow was ever impeded, a built-in safety device would turn off the unit.
Simply plugging into a standard 110V grounded outlet, this device comes in two space-efficient sizes. The first, Air-Dryr 1000, has a 130 watt heating element and protects up to 1,000 cubic feet of space with a 1.1 amp draw. It measures 13.5 inches in diameter by 4.25 inches high. The second, Air-Dryr 500, has a 70 watt heating element and handles up to 500 cubic feet with just a 0.6 amp draw. It measures 14 inches long, 5 inches wide, and .45 inches high.
Davis Instruments' Air-Dryr 1000 costs $69.99 and the Air-Dryr 500 is $59.99.
