NOAA undercover operation aimed at off-limits striped bass fishing off Va. coast

March 2011 News
An undercover investigation into illegal fishing for striped bass in off-limits federal waters has netted electronics and records from charter boats that operate out of Virginia.

The Baltimore Sun reports that the seizures included GPS units, fuel logs and ship logs, client lists and other materials.

The newspaper said the investigation was conducted by the
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. NOAA officials did not immediately return messages left by The Associated Press.
