A drastic response to the Asian carp problem

May 2011 News
The Asian carp population that threatens the ecosystem of Lake Michigan requires a thoughtful, reasoned response. Unfortunately, Peoria Carp Hunters isn't that. But it sure as hell is funny.

Nathan Wallick, the Firefighter/EMT behind Peoria Carp Hunters, calls it "bowfishing on steroids." Asian carp jump out of the water when they feel vibration and turbulence in the water and Wallick has found that aluminum deck boats and two-stroke outboard motors work best. Wallick offers bowfishing trips along Peoria's waterways for groups of 4-6 people. His boat of choice is an aluminum deck boat with a raised deck for bowfishers to take aim at the leaping fish.

Or maybe you want to don some of the spike and claw carp hunter armor and head out into the water on skis.
