Take Me Fishing debuts updated app

June 2011 News

The Take Me Fishing campaign is rolling out an updated version of its Boat Ramp application for iPhone and Android phones.

Designed to help boaters and anglers find boat ramps and marinas on the go from the convenience of their mobile devices, the Boat Ramp App now offers advanced search functions that allow users to search for access points by ZIP code, city and state and local landmarks.

Also new is an "add a ramp" feature where users can submit a ramp that might not yet be listed.

"We are thrilled that - by popular demand and based on user feedback - we are able to provide the latest and greatest version of our Boat Ramp App to boaters and anglers on the go,"Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation president and CEO Frank Peterson said in a statement. "The new release makes finding boat ramps easier than ever and gets boaters and anglers out on the water with just a quick glance at their smart phone."

The free app, which is available at the Apple iTunes store and the Android Marketplace, features more than 35,000 boat ramps across the country.
