New Loon solar boat unveiled

December 2011 News

Monty Gibson of the Tamarack Lake Electric Boat Company is just about to begin series production of a new, uber-eco vessel in January at their facility in Rome, N.Y. Gibson has also also developed a site plan for the waterfront development in Rome; this facility is the existing large building in gray at the center of the plan.

"Solar boating is about to become a reality as it enters into mainstream recreating and our Loon will lead the way!" Gibson said.

Gibson would like to invite all PDB readers to the ribbon-cutting early in the new year, watch this site for future information. The Erie Canal is now home to the most enviro-friendly recreational boat company in the world, and interestingly, theRome facility is merely a stone's throw, literally, from where construction began on the canal on July 4, 1817.
