West Marine opens new Maryland store

West Marine is holding a grand opening this weekend of its newest store in Middle River, Md.

Doors open at 8 a.m. Saturday and the celebration continues all weekend with discounts, gifts and prize giveaways, including $100 West Marine gift cards.

With more than 17,000 square feet, it's the largest West Marine in the Chesapeake Bay area. The new Middle River West Marine employs 15 associates who have more than 150 years of boating, fishing and sailing experience.

Store manager Chris Gair has been with West Marine for more than 10 years.
