Upgrading to Quality Folding Cleats is Simple

August 2020 Feature

Retractable cleats enhance the safety and appearance of any boat, but their required deck cut-outs may not be possible if there are bulkheads, electrical runs or other elements beneath. An easy DIY alternative is the Surface Mount Folding Cleat from Accon Marine. It offers similar operation to Accon's patented Pop-Up Cleat by springing into action when needed, yet needs no cutting for installation.

Made from marine-grade cast 316 stainless steel for extreme corrosion resistance and exceptional durability, the Surface Mount Folding Cleat comes in 3.5", 4.5", 6" and 8" sizes. Stud-mount and through-bolted versions suit almost any installation scenario. A spring-loaded mechanism locks the Accon cleat down when not in use, then flips it up into action with the push of a button.

Installation takes just minutes and requires only a drill, painter's tape and a screwdriver. Simply tape the installation site to protect against scratches and mark the drill holes using the supplied template. Once the holes have been made, carefully secure the cleat in place.

Surface Mount Folding Cleats from Accon Marine are a quick and easy way to upgrade the look, functionality and safety of any boat. MSRP starts at $52.55 for the 3.5" through-bolted model.
