Manatee Population Increasing

St. Petersburg, Fla. -Florida's manatee population is higher now than at any time since aerial surveys began, according to Florida's Fish and Wildlife Institute (FWRI). In January a team of 21 observers counted 3,807 manatees, more than 500 higher than the previous survey high in 2001. (FWRI)
