I think it's the colors that always seem to lure me in at the boat shows. The Rescue Tape logo looks like something from an Indiana Jones movie, which works well for a "rescue" product.
Simply put, Rescue Tape is a self-fusing silicone repair product with infinite uses. It was actually first used by the U.S. Military and if you haven't seen this product at boat shows and industrial trade shows across America, you're not paying attention.
For $24.95 I picked up a two-pack and although I wasn't initially crazy about the price, I had to see for myself if this "easy-to-use emergency repair product" was really as versatile as advertised.
Turns out it really is great for repair leaks on plumbing and hoses as well as plenty of other uses. I like that it stretches and feels like no other type of tape I've ever used before. Plus it resists fuels, oils, acids, solvents, salt water and UV rays, just to name a few. The website makes it sound bulletproof and after testing it myself, it just might be.
Besides for marine applications, I also found plenty of good uses around the house for this product. I must confess I have a few projects that I used the Rescue Tape on that I haven't got around to permanently fixing yet because it's held up so well.
You can wrap it around literally anything that you want to secure and it will never leave a sticky residue. It can be ordered online as a two-pack, six-pack and beyond, plus you can mix and match from the eight different colors available. With a long shelf-life, the Rescue Tape really should be onboard your boat in case of an emergency.
