Meet The BeachCat

May 2017

There we were, roaming down the rows of boats filling this year’s Miami Boat Show, when a unique pontoon made us do a double-take. Rather than mounted on classic aluminum tubes, this boat was showing off a hydrodynamic molded fiberglass hull.

A fiberglass pontoon? Come again?

John Hartnett, owner and operator of BeachCat Saltwater Pontoon Boats, bounded over to greet us. We had to ask him if these boats were just debuting this year.

“Nope,” he replied. “We’ve been around for years.”

If you saw our faces right then, you’d see nothing but open mouths and eyebrows disappearing into hairlines. We were quite frankly shocked, but as we took a closer look, it was soon clear that more than 27 years of industry experience was behind the mindful design of these saltwater-specific models.
