Suzuki Marine USA today announced a new Hurricane Rebate Program specifically designed to help the victims of two recent hurricanes that slammed the Florida coast and impacted much of the Southeastern United States. The company is doubling its already substantial consumer rebates across the board to provide up to $1,000 cash back on any new Suzuki outboard motor, whether it’s a repower or part of a new boat/motor package. The amount of the rebate is based on the horsepower rating of the motor, with popular V6 200 to 350 horsepower models qualifying for the highest rebates.
To take advantage of this offer, boaters just need to go into their authorized Suzuki dealer and provide photographic proof of their damaged vessel — something they are likely already doing for insurance purposes. The program will apply to new motors sold between October 31, 2024, and December 31, 2024.
Hurricane Helene made landfall around Perry, Florida as a Category 4 storm, bringing 130 mph winds and damaging storm surge to coastal communities. For days after, it continued its march across Florida and northwards through Georgia and North Carolina, causing widespread destruction across the Southeast. Only two weeks later, on October 9, Hurricane Milton hit near Siesta Key, Florida as a Category 3 storm, ravaging many areas where recovery and cleanup efforts were still ongoing from the previous storm. While boaters in this region of the country know how to prepare for hurricanes, thousands of boats were damaged or destroyed by these historic back-to-back storms.
Suzuki Marine is headquartered in Tampa, Florida, and the company also has its 20-acre U.S. Marine Technical Center in Panama City, Florida — so the company and its people are no strangers to the impact storms like these can have. And while both Suzuki Marine facilities survived without significant damage, many of its employees had to deal with flooding, property damage and loss of personal property. In addition, many of the staff and their families went without power and other important services for many days.
“As a Florida company, we understand how disruptive these storms can be to people’s lives,” said Brandon Cerka, Suzuki Marine General Manager Sales and Service. “And as boaters ourselves, we appreciate that one of the best things you can do to help put the experience behind you is to get back out on the water with your family as soon as possible. This program is our way of doing something that can hopefully help make that happen for boaters across the Southeast,” added Cerka.
