Over a decade ago we installed the original pontoon boat fire pit that was permanently built into the floor of your boat. The concept was fantastic and truly unlike any other aftermarket upgrade we had ever reviewed. The only problem was it (understandably) gave some owners a little hesitation when it came time to cut a huge hole in the floor of their beloved boat to install it, and eventually production ended.
We were beyond thrilled when we heard Ben Caya had taken over the company and modernized the look and feel of having a fire pit on board, but in a portable and less permanent way. From a safety standpoint, all the propane components are CSA/WL certified to ensure they have been third party tested for safety. Anything that the flame will be in contact with is metal and thus not a fire hazard. All of the plastic components, which are lower on the unit and don't even get warm during operation, are UL listed fire retardant materials just for over-the-top peace of mind.
The Floating Flame works like your grill, and is small enough to carry yet large enough to put out solid heat. Enjoy more than 20 hours of burn time with a 20-pound propane tank (not included), and never worry about cleanup with the smokeless design that is free of ashes, sparks, smoke, or odor.
On each side of the Floating Flame are integrated coolers with built-in drains below that hold up to 24 beverage cans, plus built-in cupholders and phone/key storage on top. Again, it was originally designed to be used on pontoon boats, but because of its portability, it's also ideal for tailgating, camping adventures, or for just sitting around on your back porch on a cool summer night. The patent-pending portable fire pit retails for $999 and includes a storage cover for when you're not using it.
