Stay Safe This Holiday Weekend

July 2016 Industry, News

Gateway Law, a law firm in San Diego, CA, has put together some interesting, if a little sobering, statistics about boating accidents and fatalities. With a long holiday weekend starting today, try to keep these in mind while you’re out and about. Remember to be safe as you’re on the water and to keep your wits about you at all times. Accidents can certainly happen any time, but with a little preparation we can all be as safe as possible. One of the most interesting bits out of all the data is that since 1997, boating accidents, injuries, and deaths have all dropped steadily and in some cases quite precipitously. It doesn’t attribute this to anything, but I have to imagine that it’s a combination of better safety practices across the board, as well as people being more familiar with their boats and knowing their limits.
