West Marine grand opening this weekend in Turkey

August 2009 News

Called the "Saint Tropez of Turkey" by the New York Times, Bodrum is a destination for boaters and cruisers exploring the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts, and a perfect location for a West Marine store, according to the Watsonville, Calif.-based retailer.

The new West Marine store is part of a multiyear area development agreement for Turkey signed last year. The first Turkey franchise store was opened July 5, 2008 in the Kartal area of Istanbul.

"We're pleased to partner with West Marine Turkey to bring a beautiful new store to the Bodrum boating community," West Marine CEO Geoff Eisenberg said in a statement. "With natural daylighting, high ceilings and thousands of products, this is another step in our multiyear path to provide boaters with the supplies and accessories they need to explore the beautiful coastlines of Turkey and beyond."
